Engineering Universities! India has the most significant number of engineers and the largest number of engineering education institutes and infrastructure in the world. As of 2021, Engineering Universities in India annually produce fifteen lahks, of engineering graduates. India’s technical education infrastructure includes 2500 engineering colleges, 1400 polytechnics, and 200 schools of planning and architecture.
The following are the Best Engineering Universities in India as of 2022;
#1. IIT Madras- Indian Institute of Technology- [IITM], Chennai
IIT Madras is the best engineering institute among all the IITs in India. The university is ranked 250th position in the QS World University Rankings 2023. IIT Madras admission 2022 is currently open for BTech, MTech, MS, and Ph.D. programs. Admission to the BTech program is done through JEE Advanced. The examination is scheduled for August 28 and the applications for the same will be released on August 7. The institute opens admission to the program at 85 ranks in the JEE Advanced exam. The closing rank can extend up to 3200 including all the courses.
For the PG admissions, MTech in Industrial AI applications is open till May 15. MS and Ph.D. applications are closed now. The institute will soon announce a shortlist for the interview round. IIT Madras is the only institute with the highest placement rate in Civil Engineering. The institute has a 77% placement rate for its CE branch. In 2022 placements, 39 out of the 49 enrolled students got placed with CE specialization. IIT Madras has released the MTech shortlist of candidates selected in round 1 of COAP 2022. Selected candidates can accept, freeze, and reject admission offers till May 22.
IIT Madras has more than a dozen academic departments, many of which offer studies in different types of engineering, including aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and ocean engineering. Several departments also focus on other scientific fields – math, physics, and chemistry – and the humanities. IIT Madras students can enroll in bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs, as well as dual-degree programs. The university uses a semester-based academic calendar, and English is the language of instruction. Research centers at the university include the Indo-German Centre for Sustainability, the Centre for Nanotechnology, and the National Center for Catalysis Research. The IIT Madras Research Park helps companies gain access to university research and insights. Businesses can set up shop in the research park and work with IIT Madras on research and development projects.

#2. IIT Delhi- Indian Institute of Technology- [IITD], New Delhi
IIT Delhi ranks 4th Overall, 2nd in Engineering, and 5th in the Management category under NIRF 2021 rankings. In the QS World University Rankings 2023, IIT Delhi secured the 174th position. IIT Delhi has 19 centers of excellence, 16 academic departments, and 6 distinct schools. It is one of the first six institutes declared as the ‘Institute of Eminence status. Currently, Admissions at IIT Delhi are open for UG, PG, and Certification programs. For B.Tech admissions, JEE Advanced 2022 exam will be held on August 28. The opening rank for IIT Delhi’s B.Tech program is 3, while the closing rank is 5816. IIT Delhi has released the PI results for MBA/MBA (Telecom). IIT Delhi is the “Institute of Eminence” declared by the Indian Government. It offers more than 100 courses under UG, PG, Dual, and Doctoral degrees. Other than the degree courses, the institute also offers 8 certificate programs to UG and PG students. IIT Delhi has its main campus in Hauz Delhi promoting all major activities of the institute. In addition, the institute also has two extension campuses, one in Sonepat, and one in Jhajjar.
IIT Delhi Sonepat campus was established in 2018 by the Govt of Haryana. The campus is a part of Technopark focusing on Executive MBA, and Faculty Development programs for the engineering and technical colleges of Haryana state. On the other hand, the IIT Delhi Jhajjar campus is in Badsa Village. The campus along with AIIMS Delhi’s Jhajjar campus is setting up a biomedical research park at this campus. IIT Delhi Jhajjar campus will also have a joint Ph.D. supervision program in the coming years.
The major programs offered at IIT Delhi are in the fields of Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Amongst all, the flagship program of the institute is BTech. Selection to the program is based on the JEE Advanced exam and participation in the JoSaa Counselling. IIT Delhi Cutoff for the BTech program requires a rank between 1-100 rank in the JEE Advanced exam. Candidates qualifying for admission are charged INR 1,24,000 per semester.
In addition to these, the institute also offers 8 certificate programs to UG and PG students. These online courses are of 6 months duration (approx) with fees ranging from INR 50k to INR 1 Lac. IIT Delhi Certificate programs include core fields such as Digital Marketing, Product Development, Business Management, Human Resource Management, etc.
After the completion of a degree from IIT Delhi, students get placements in companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Tata Projects, etc. Students participating in the IIT Delhi placements, earn an average salary package of INR 1.25 LPA. The highest salary package earned can reach up to INR 2 CPA. Students who do not participate in the placement process can avail of the facility of deferred placements. IIT Delhi gives a facility for deferred placements to students who wish to set up a start-up after their degree completion. The facility allows a student to come back and avail of placement services of an institute if the start-up plan didn’t work. The student can participate in the placement process within 2 years after availing of the deferred placement option.

#3. Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology- [DA-IICT], Gandhi Nagar
DA-IICT is inviting applications to M.Tech, M.Sc, and Ph.D. Admission 2022. Eligible candidates can visit the official website to check the admission schedule and apply for DA-IICT Admission 2022. The institute is also accepting applications for admission to the M.Des & B.Tech program. Eligible candidates seeking admission to the M.Des & B.Tech program can fill out the application form by May 30, 2022, & June 30, 2022, respectively. DAIICT Placements 2022 are being conducted now. According to this, about 443 offers have been extended so far, to its students across all programs. The highest package offered so far is INR 52.5 LPA.
Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, offers B.Tech in three specializations at UG level, M.Tech, M.Des., M.Sc. at PG level, and Ph.D. which is offered Ph.D. is offered in two modes; rolling and regular (full-time) registration. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, also known as IIT Bombay, is a public institution that was founded in 1958.
